Hello to all BPHS alumni and friends!
Trying to connect with BPHS alumni and friends?
There seems to be a number of Buena Park High School alumni and friends on the Classmates.com web site, but only a few can actually communicate with others. The problem with Classmates.com is that they require you to become a 'Gold' member before you can read any email sent from other members. You can of course send email to other people, but this also requires your friends on Classmates.com to also sign up as Gold member (and pay) before they can read any Classmates.com email you send to them. Classmates.com is a terrible social networking site. It is not something most of us are happy or willing to pay for. Besides, there are many other "social networking" sites that are much better, much safer, with many more people, and free.
I would like to propose those of us who would like to find BPHS alumni and friends to use Facebook. Facebook is used by more that 175 million people, is much more secure, does not spam you, and is free.
1) Join the Facebook web site (for free): http://www.Facebook.com. By providing your high school name and year you can easily find others who have that same information. Keep in mind that you will only be able to see a limited portion of each person's information until they become your "Friend". You can easily request to become their "Friend". Even if you are not someone's friend, you can still send them a message - at no cost to either of you (unlike Classmates.com).
2) Optional: Join BPHS Group on Facebook: Buena Park High School Class of 1982 (and friends). If you enter your high school information on your Facebook profile, alumni can find you easily. Joining this group will allow all the members in that group to be notified all at once should that ever become necessary.
3) Contact any BPHS alumni, faculty, and friends that you keep in contact with and suggest they join Facebook.
